Inspired in Dresden

During my last week’s vacation I went shopping to Dresden and as always I visted bookstore to buy som german books. I don’t use german as often as I would like to, so I keep up my knowledge at least by reading.

This time I bought also one craft-sewing book from Miriam Donermann and got really inspired by many things from there. This is the first project- cosmetic pouch. I looks os happy and optimistic! I could look at it the whole day!

Sewing week continues

My sewing week continues with these tote bags and experimentation with applique. It is not the first time that I did applique, but this time i sew around the edges with the quilting foot, that’s why it is so shaky, or how to call it…

Hope you like it!

Happy baby quilts

With my exam behind me and few months without the sewing mashine, I am now sewing like crazy. In few days I made these two baby quilts. I had a very colorful, bright and happy fat quarter pack.

The smaller one is 35×40″ (93x120cm) and is made mostly of 5″ squares and cuts from a panel here and there.

And the second one is based on 6″ squares but I used many cuts from the panel, so it is more crazy and I juse sew it line by line without any actual design, I just knew the sice I wanted to end up with. So the final size is 36×47″ (89x102cm)

But enough with writing, let’s go to the sewing mashine!

Japaneese style pillows

I have not been sewing for few months. I have been studying for my exams, but luckily I passed. This weekend I had finally learning free weekend, so I finished the embroided japaneese style pillowcases. I wanted someting simple, in natural colors, I used linen-cotton fabric and only few shades lighter emroidery thread.  And here is the result:
